WHAT IS MICROBLADING?
Microblading is a semi-permanent tattoo procedure where color pigment is implanted beneath the surface of the skin by using a special hand-tool which houses a row of micro sterile, disposable needles forming a blade that creates the appearance of hair where it is sparse. Microblading creates fullness enhancing the appearance of the brows.
DOES MICROBLADING HURT?
A topical anesthetic cream or gel is used to numb the area before and during the procedure. Pain level may vary depending upon each individual. Please note heightened sensitivity may occur during menstrual cycle.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?
Microblading procedure generally takes about 2-3 hours. The first 30 minutes of the appointment is to fully anesthetize the area for comfort and another 15-20 minutes mapping out the brows.
completing consent forms
'before' photos taken
'after' photos taken
review aftercare instructions
evaluate pigment retention & results
touch up in areas needed to create fullness & darkness if client desires
add shading if client desires
Occasionally a third session is required. This generally applies to full reconstructed brows.
HOW LONG DOES IT LAST?
Microblading procedure is considered semi-permanent and fades over time. It is important to schedule a follow-up appointment after your initial treatment in 30 days for final evaluation and additional treatment to perfect your brow shape. After the 2nd treatment, touch-ups may be needed approximately after 18-24 months depending upon each individual. Skin type and lifestyle can effect the longevity of your cosmetic tattoo - we can not guarantee specific results.

FOR WOMEN WHO ARE PREGNANT & BREAST FEEDING:
With all the hormonal changes you encounter during your pregnancy, birth and breastfeeding is completely understandable that you deserve to pamper yourself with something that will save you some time getting ready and making you feel good and attractive. I have a lot of my clients who are pregnant and breastfeeding inquiring about microblading services. It is not recommended and if you are receiving services, please consult with your doctor first.
Here’s the run down on why:
All Cosmetic Tattoo / Micropigmentation procedures carry some risk of infection because the skin is being broken. While all measures are taken to prevent any infection during the procedure is a very slight possibility you can get an infection if not cared for correctly after the procedure (for example if the client wears makeup or touches the healing work done). If this happens, then the baby could pick up a secondary infection.
During pregnancy, facial tissue can be stretched due to swelling and fluid retention. This means that makeup tattoos applied during pregnancy have the potential to change in shape once the baby has been born or no longer suit.
Facial skin may be more susceptible to pigment darkening (especially for those who get Melasma, commonly known as the “mask of pregnancy”) and so the trauma to the skin during the procedure may result in hyper-pigmentation in that area. So basically your skin would get pigmented and darker in some areas.
On the other had in some women find their skin may also be resistant to accepting the tattoo pigment due to the increase in hormonal changes and fluctuations
There is also a slight possibility that some ladies can faint while being pregnant and this would not be ideal while tattooing
Most cosmetic tattooists will use some form of anesthetic and numbing cream prior and during procedures. These will absorb into the skin and may enter into the blood stream.
There is not enough known about the tattoo pigments on the growing baby to ensure safety
It's always best to be cautious during your pregnancy and or breastfeeding and just wait those extra few months. A good Cosmetic Tattoo Artist will want the best for you and your baby.
HOW WILL I KNOW IF I NEED A TOUCH UP?
The best results generally come from a two step process. Touch ups allow us to analyze how the color regenerates beneath the skin and add in areas that may have healed incorrectly. Healed results are unique to each client and we do our best to create a consistent experience. Touch ups are beneficial for color restoration, shape correction, and/or any fine tuning the client desires and are highly recommended.
DO DIFFERENT SKIN TYPES REACT DIFFERENTLY TO MICROBLADING?
In short, yes. However, healed results are unique to each client. In our experience, dry skin typically heals to a finer (crisp) finish, while oily skin typically leads to a thicker (soft) healed stroke. Results vary and can be attributed to a number of factors including; skin type, aftercare, and environmental exposure.
ARE THERE ANY REASONS WHY I MAY BE INELIGIBLE FOR MICROBLADING?
You must be 18+ to receive a service at Wildflower Beauty + Brows. As a safety precaution, we refrain from working on individuals who are pregnant or nursing. If you have previously microbladed eyebrows by another artist or are a male client, we do require a visual consultation via email before you are eligible to book an appointment. This is to ensure expectations and achievable results coincide with one another. If you are diabetic, you must insure your diabetes is well-controlled. High blood sugar levels can complicate the healing process. We also refrain from working on individuals who are going through chemotherapy because they are at higher risks of bleeding and infection.
